Circle time does not need to be a time where we ask kids to sit still. In fact, that's really hard for them to do and probably very frustrating for you! Use circle time as a space to get kids up and moving.
Here are some ideas:
- Invite kids to dance one at a time in the middle of the circle while everyone else claps and/or chants
- Make it social and also a body awareness activity by inviting more than one child to dance together in the middle of the circle
- Have all children stand up to dance or do song movements (like "Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes")
- Teach them how to do the wave
