Tearing Paper
Tearing Paper
Location: indoor
Materials: old magazines or other paper you're getting ready to recycle
Invite your toddlers to participate in an active sensory exploration. When you have a large stack of old magazines, newspapers, and other paper you're getting ready to dispose of, set it out and invite your children to rip it up. This is a great sensory activity-- the sound of the paper tearing, how much strength it takes to tear different types of papers and quantity of pages.
Possible Extensions:
- Use the torn paper in a future art project, liking making collages
- Keep the torn paper in a basket for future sensory play
