Spray Bottles

Spray Bottles

Location: outdoor

Materials: spray bottles & water

There is something magnetic about spray bottles for children. Allow children to fill them with water and spray them around the park or yard. It requires both coordination and hand strength, so is a great activity to help kids build the muscles they need for holding a pencil.

Possible Extensions:

  • Use spray bottles as a way to water plants in the garden
  • Vary the type of spray bottles you have, the kind that you push with a finger offer a different challenge than the ones you squeeze

What We're Learning

  • hand strength
  • hand-eye coordination
  • trial and error
  • persistence and focus (spray bottles can be hard to work with small hands and can require a lot of concentration and persistence)
