Alliteration in Action

Alliteration is the repetition of the same letter sound in a series of words (think: "she sells seashells by the seashore"). Alliteration is part of phonological awareness, and a fun way to play with words and letter sounds.

As with many aspects of phonological awareness, picture books, nursery rhymes, and finger plays provide many opportunities to expose your children to alliteration. Here are some ideas to get you started:
